Saskatoon, Sask. - The Saskatoon Blades defeated the Regina Pats 9-1 on Wednesday night inside the SaskTel Centre.

Corban Almen scored Regina's only goal in the contest, with the assist to Carson Haynes and the goal coming in the third period. The Pats got off to a good start in the opening period despite training 3-0, outshooting Saskatoon 15-10.

The Blades got goals from eight different players, with Hudson Kibblewhite picking up the only multi-goal game, scoring twice. Evan Gardner made 30 saves for his 13th victory of the season, backstopping the Blades to their third straight win and sixth straight contest with at least a point (5-0-0-1).

Egor Sidorv led the way with three points (1G-2A), while Easton Arnstrong, Vaughn Watterodt, Misha Volotovskii, Fraser Minten, Brandon Lisowsky and Ben Saunderson rounded out the scoring for the Blades.

First Period

1-0 Blades at 2:22 - Hudson Kibblewhite (4), assisted by Tanner Molendyk & Tyler Parr // The Blades controlled the puck after an offensive zone face-off win and Parr sent a cross-ice pass to Molendyk who let a one-timer fly that was tipped in by Kibblewhite to give the Blades an early 1-0 lead.

2-0 Blades at 8:45 - Misha Vlotovskii (6), assisted by Rhett Melnyk & Charlie Wright // Melnyk carried the puck into the Pats zone where he was dumped but the puck ended up on Volotovskii's stick where he spun and sent a backhander towards the Pats net that eluded Huet five-hole to extend the Blades lead to 2-0.

3-0 Blades at 19:35 - Egor Sidorov (37), assisted by Player & Player // Sidorov beat a Pats defender along the boards in the neutral zone, broke in on a two-on-one, and beat Huet with a wrist shot to the blocker side to extend the Blades lead to 3-0 late in the opening period.

Second Period

4-0 Blades at 4:19 - Vaughn Watterodt (7), assisted by Trevor Wong // Wong's shot was kicked out by Pyne right to Watterodt who chipped the puck into the net to extend the Blades lead to 4-0.

5-0 Blades at 6:58 - Brandon Lisowsky (29), assisted by Easton Armstrong & Egor Sidorov (PP) // Lisowsky got free from coverage in the Pats zone and received a pass from Armstrong that he shot past Pyne to make it 5-0.

6-0 Blades at 18:04 - Easton Armstrong (26), assisted by Alexander Suzdalev & John Babcock // Suzdalev sent a cross-ice pass through the slot to Armstrong who put the puck past a sprawling Pyne to make it 6-0.

Third Period

6-1 Pats at 7:38 - Corban Almen (3), assisted by Carson Haynes // As his penalty expired, Almen received a stretch pass off the boards, went on a breakaway, and beat Gardner with a nifty backhander to get the Pats on the board down 6-1.

7-1 Blades at 9:01 - Hudson Kibblewhite (5), assisted by Rowan Calvert & Tyler Parr // The Blades' initial shot was stopped but Kibblewhite was the last Blade to touch the puck before it went in off of Pyne to make it 7-1.

8-1 Blades at 15:16 - Ben Saunderson (5), unassisted // Saunderson fired a shot from the left circle that beat Pyne to make it 8-1.

9-1 Blades at 19:00 - Fraser Minten (12), assisted by Vaughn Watterodt // Minten skated in on the left wing side and ripped a shot past Pyne to make it 9-1.

JUST NOTES

Corban Almen broke a 22-game goalless streak with his third marker of the season. His last goal happened to be on October 27 also against the Blades (in Regina).

Carson Haynes picked up his first point in five contests.
