New England Black Wolves News Release
UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The New England Black Wolves announced today that team captain Brett Manney has been signed to a one-year contract.
Per team policy, no details were released.
A six-foot-three defenseman, Manney has been a mainstay in the Black Wolves lineup since the team relocated to New England prior to the 2015 season. Last season, he had eight points on two goals and six assists while also scooping up 51 loose balls and causing 13 turnovers.
"The captain is back!" Black Wolves general manager Rich Lisk said. "What can I say about Brett that hadn't been said already? He is the heartbeat of the Pack and we welcome him back with open arms. Brett is an integral piece of our quest for bringing a championship to New England."
In 169 career games over 11 seasons, Manney has 59 points on 13 goals and 46 assists. He has 509 loose ball pickups and 107 caused turnovers. He was named captain prior to the 2018-19 season after serving as an assistant captain for the previous three seasons.
"I'm excited for another year with the Black Wolves," Manney said. "I am a fan of everything and everyone at Mohegan Sun and all they do for me and my teammates. I want to finish what I started here and continue to build the culture of what it means to be a Black Wolf. I am fortunate to put the sweater on for another year and cannot wait to battle with my teammates in front of our ever growing fan base."
