
Black Wolves Fall to Knighthawks

Uncasville, Conn. - Reilly O'Connor had three points and Joe Resetarits had two goals but it was not enough as the New England Black Wolves fell to the Rochester Knighthawks 13-8 on Sunday afternoon.
With 2:14 to play, Jackson Nishimura got the scoring started for the Black Wolves (7-7). The Knighthawks (3-11) tied it up with 12:34 to go in the second on a goal by Kyle Jackson. Resetarits picked up his first goal as a member of the Black Wolves at Mohegan Sun Arena with 11:02 to go in the second to put New England up 2-1. Rochester tied it up with 5:29 to play in the half on a goal by Ryan Benesch in transition. Callum Crawford picked up a goal just 41 seconds later off a pass from Colton Watkinson to put the Black Wolves up 3-2 with 4:48 to play. However, the Knighthawks answered right back 21 seconds later with a goal by Cody Jamieson to tie it at 3-3.
With 4:03 to play, O'Connor found the back of the net to put the Black Wolves back up, this time at 4-3. Rochester tied it at 4-4 with 2:14 to play in the frame with a transition goal by James Barclay and another with 1:48 remaining from Jackson to put the Knighthawks up 5-4. Colton Armstrong found the back of the net for the Knighthawks with 50 seconds to play in the second to put the score at 6-4 and that's how the half ended.
Just 1:58 into the third, Nick Chaykowsky picked up his first goal of the season to put the score at 6-5 and David Brock scored 1:25 later to tie it at 6-6. Rochester scored on a goal Jake Withers with 9:54 to play to take a 7-6 lead. However, Resetarits found the back of the net for his second of the night just 52 seconds later to tie it back up at 7-7. Rochester took the lead back with 2:11 to play in the frame on a goal by Mike Burke and another by Jamieson with 1:42 remaining to take a 9-7 lead.
O'Connor scored his second of the night with 12:58 to play in the fourth quarter on the power play to cut the Rochester advantage down to one, 9-8. Rochester answered 55 seconds later to go up 10-8 with 12:03 play. The Knighthawks increased their lead to 11-8 with 9:03 to play on the third of the day by Jackson. With 7:45 to play, Withers scored short-handed to put the Knighthawks up 12-8. The Rochester lead increased to five, 13-8 on a goal by Chris Boushy with 5:28 to play
Doug Jamieson took the loss in goal for the Black Wolves while making 44 saves. Jackson had four points on three goals and one assist while Burke added three assists to his two goals and Jamieson had two assists as well.
The Black Wolves will be in action next on Saturday, April 6 when they take on the San Diego Seals at Mohegan Sun Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
