RALSTON, NE - The Waterloo Black Hawks took down the Lancers in game one of the weekend series by a final score of 5-3.
In the first period, Cole Kodsi (1:49) found the puck to the side of Gabriel Carriere to get Omaha ahead 1-0. Waterloo would even the game up on the power play when Kyle Haskins (4:10) scored. The Black Hawks took their first lead of the night when Brehdan Engum (9:01) scored an unassisted goal to make the score 2-1 going into the 1st intermission.
In the second period, Luke Mobley (16:12) evened the game 2-2 on the power play.
In the third period, Logan Will (:23) got the Lancers ahead 3-2. Waterloo would go back on the attack to score 3 unanswered goals to win 5-3 over the Lancers.
The Lancers and Black Hawks are back at it tomorrow for game two of the weekend series. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm and all the action can be heard on 1290 AM and seen on Hockey TV.
