December 13, 2019 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Green Bay Gamblers News Release
The Gamblers returned to the Resch Center tonight after two straight road games to take on the first place Dubuque Fighting Saints. It was a physical game that saw both teams getting after it. Dubuque would jump to a 3-0 lead before the third period. In the third period, the Gamblers would score two goals to come within one. However, it would end there with Dubuque winning 3-2.
At the end of the first period, Green Bay trailed 1-0. The team had 13 shots on goal and had hopes of coming back into the game in the second period.
Things were looking bleak at the start of the third, but the Gamblers would have other sights in their eyes. Mason Lohrei would score first for the Gamblers with Jake Schmaltz adding another quickly and getting within one. The Gamblers got a late powerplay with a minute left and Grabko being pulled, Green Bay would up two players. The Gamblers had a couple of quality chances, unfortunately, come up empty and fall to Dubuque 3-2
The two teams face off again tomorrow night in Dubuque. Puck drops at 7:05 pm and can be viewed on www.hockeytv.com or live at the Drift Inn in De Pere. The Gamblers head out for Christmas break, but they are back at the Resch December 30th and 31st to take on Team USA. Tickets can be bought at www.gamblershockey.com/tickets.
