Black Hawks Lending Hand in Community

The Waterloo Black Hawks hockey team continues its busy action on the ice with three games in four days leading up to the USHL break. The Hawks will also be busy off the ice this week as they will be handing out teddy bears at local hospitals and will be at various places for "Shop with the Hawks."

"Its great to see the guys helping out during this holiday season and giving back to a community that has done so much for them," said A.J. Ligman, Director of Broadcast and Community Relations.

Players will be taking teddy bears from the Thanksgiving Night Teddy Bear Toss to the People's Community Clinic and Covenant Hospital's Pediatric floors. Players will also be on hand for special "Shop with the Hawks" nights where Black Hawks merchandise is sold. Players will be at the Hawks Nest at Young Arena, Graham's Skate Sport (across the street from Young Arena), and at the Harley Davidson shop in Crossroad's Mall this Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM. Players will be on hand to assist with shopping needs and sign autographs.

Black Hawk players will also be out on Thursday night at College Square Mall wrapping gifts for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. For a complete listing of what players will be on hand for the "Shop with the Hawks," and wrapping gifts please go to www.waterlooblackhawks.com for more details.

Waterloo will next play at Sioux City this Wednesday and will then be home this Friday when they host Sioux City, followed by a road game at Sioux Falls Saturday, before the week long USHL holiday break.
