ODENTON, MD - Today, the Maryland Black Bears traded Forward Jonathan Young to the Amarillo Bulls for Forward Filip Jakobsson. Young was one of the original Black Bears on the roster from their Inaugural Season. He had 10 goals and 26 assists over the 2018-29 campaign. The Merrimack College commit has experience playing at the USHL and NAHL Junior Hockey levels.

Filip Jakobsson was born on April 11th, 1999 and is from Stockholm, Sweden. The 5'10, 168-pound Forward played in Sweden last year for Södertälje SK J20 "A" in the SuperElit league. Jakobsson had 6 goals and 24 assists in 31 games played over the season. As an Amarillo Bull, he has one goal and one assist through five games played.

"As an organization, we would like to thank Jonathan for all he has done for the Black Bears and the Central Maryland Community," said Maryland Black Bears Head Coach Clint Mylymok. "He will always be an original member of this franchise and is an absolute class act. Jakobsson will address some of our Power Play needs, and has elite vision with the puck. We look forward to his debut on October 11th against the Johnstown Tomahawks."
