
Black Bears Trade Forward Kyle Oleksiuk for Two Future Draft Picks

ODENTON, MD - The North American Hockey League (NAHL) trade deadline is today, February 6th, and the Maryland Black Bears continue to stay active. Black Bears' Forward, Kyle Oleksiuk, was traded to the Austin Bruins for two undisclosed draft picks. The trade restocks the supply of draft picks for the Black Bears. Several picks were used in the trades involving new acquisitions Aaron Swanson, Jack Smiley, Hunter Brackett, and Aaron Randazzo.
Kyle Oleksiuk played in 35 games for the Black Bears and notched 8 goals and 15 assists this season. Oleksiuk will be joining another competitive NAHL team that currently holds the fourth playoff spot in the Central Division.
Head Coach and General Manager of the Black Bears, Clint Mylymok, issued the following statement:
"The Black Bears would like to thank Kyle for his time with the organization and the contributions he made to the Central Maryland Community," said Mylymok. "We wish him all the best as he continues his hockey career in Austin."
The Maryland Black Bears is a Junior Hockey Team that competes in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Our players, 16-20 years old, are vying for NCAA DI/III Scholarships. The Black Bears are the hometown hockey team of Central Maryland and play out of the Piney Orchard Ice Arena. The Maryland Black Bears play for more than just wins!
