The Berkshire Black Bears were overpowered by Brockton Rox pitching in a 6-0 loss to their eastern Massachusetts counterpart on Tuesday night.
The Black Bears managed just 3 hits, two by second baseman Joe Kerrigan and one by right fielder Leroy Griffith. Brockton starting pitcher Joey Baker went 7 innings allowing only 3 hits, no walks and striking out 5. Black Bears starter Aaron Akin went 4 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, hit 2 batters, walked 6 and struck out 4.
Game 2 of the series happens tomorrow night at Wahconah Park at 7:05.
