Berkshire Black Bears News Release
PITTSFIELD-The Berkshire Black Bears snapped a 3 game losing streak Thursday night with a 4-0 shutout of the Brockton Rox. Starting pitcher Jackson Crowther went 8 straight inning giving up 6 hits, walking 1 and striking out 6. New closer Joe Cotton came on to pitch the 9th inning and walked the first two batters he face but then settled down to strike out the next three.
The Black Bears only had 5 hits on the night but they made them count. Outfielder Curtis Goodwin had 2 hits, the second an RBI double in the 8th inning. Todd Brock, Chris Sawyer and Ryan Smith all had singles on the evening. The wins give the Black Bears a record of 10-16. They begin a 4 game series against the Albany Colonie Diamond Dogs tomorrow night at Wahconah Park at 7:05.
