PITTSFIELD-The Berkshire Black Bears got behind early and never recovered in the second game of a three game series with the Allentown Ambassadors. The final score was 8-2. Starting pitcher Dallas Mahan, who worked 3 full innings, had to work his way out of several jams. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits and walked 1 before being pulled after the 3rd inning. Jim Harrison came on and worked 4 innings allowing 4 runs on 4 hits while striking out 2. Closer Greg Makoul threw two hitless innings of baseball walking 2 and striking out 1.
The Black Bears had 9 hits on the night. Leading the way was catcher Scott Allen with 2 hits and an RBI. Chris Sawyer and Luis Mercedes each had two hits and Curtis Goodwin extended his hitting streak to 20 games. Other Black Bears to get hits were Ender Gonzalez and Michael Moore. The final game of the series will be played tomorrow afternoon at Wahconah Park beginning at 2:05.
