Kitchener hosted former NHLer, Spittin Chiclets cohost and TNT NHL Analyst Paul Bissonnette for their Sunday afternoon 4-2 win over the Ottawa 67's. Bissonnette dropped the puck and sat down for a Q&A pregame with some loyal fans before watching the game from the Blueline Club with some more fans.

Filip Mešár scored two goals and continued to impress as he has put up three points since returning to the lineup on Friday night. Carson Rehkopf recorded an assist in the game extending his point streak to three games where he has put up eight points (6G, 2A). Hunter Brzustewicz led the team in points tonight with three assists, he has recorded five assists over the last two games. Matthew Andonovski was the first star making many key defensive plays while also scoring the first goal of the game and adding an assist along the way.

OTT 0, KIT 1

16:18 Matthew Andonovski (4) - Hunter Brzustewicz

Matthew Andonovski broke the scoring open with a point shot that beat Collin MacKenzie. Hunter Brzustewicz dished a pass along the blueline in the Ottawa zone to Andonovski who sent a wrist shot on goal that snuck along the ice past MacKenzie's glove side pad.

2nd Period

OTT 0, KIT 2

1:15 Antonino Pugliese (14) - Hunter Brzustewicz, Matthew Andonovski

Antonino Pugliese was sent on a shorthanded breakaway following a long stretch pass from Hunter Brzustewicz. On the breakaway, Pugliese buried the puck top shelf over MacKenzie's glove to extend the lead to two.

3rd Period

OTT 1, KIT 2

9:01 Brady Stonehouse (13) - Cooper Foster, Thomas Sirman

Six seconds following an Ottawa powerplay Brady Stonehouse buried the puck to cut the lead in half. Matthew Sop took a slashing penalty at 6:55. While set up on the power play Thomas Sirman sent a pass down to the blocker side faceoff circle. Cooper Foster possessed the puck here and sent a pass horizontally to the opposite faceoff circle where Brady Stonehouse was waiting. He rifled off a wrist shot glove side beating Tristan Malboeuf for the first time this afternoon.

OTT 2, KIT 2

13:41 Samuel Mayer (13) - Cooper Foster, Thomas Sirman - PPG

Ottawa tied the game up on the powerplay thanks to a wrist shot by Samuel Mayer. Henry Mews passed the puck up from the bench side faceoff circle to the far point where Mayer took possession. He sent a wrist shot on net which snuck by a screened Tristan Malboeuf, tying the game at two.

OTT 2, KIT 3

14:25 Filip Mešár (14) - Carson Rehkopf, Hunter Brzustewicz

Filip Mešár put the Rangers back on top with a wrist shot from the high slot. Mešár's wrist shot deflected off Derek Smyth in front of the crease and snuck past MacKenzie putting Kitchener up one late.

OTT 2, KIT 4

Filip Mešár put the game away scoring an empty net goal from within the Rangers zone. He fired the puck down the ice and into the empty net for his second of the game, putting the East Avenue Blue up two with eleven seconds left.

The Goalies:

Collin MacKenzie got the start for Ottawa, he made 19 of 22 potential saves in the loss. His season record moved to 9-6-1-0. Tristan Malboeuf stood tall once again for the Rangers as he recorded the win for the Blueshirts making 31 saves on 33 shots to improve his season record to 12-2-1-0.

Up Next: The Rangers will be playing a couple of rivals over the next week. They will head to Guelph on Wednesday for another installation of the Battle of Highway 7. They will then play London in a home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday next weekend. Kitchener is home Friday to play their longtime rival before travelling to London on Saturday.
