Bisons to Hold Online Auction of Batting Practice Jerseys

The 2004 International League Champion Buffalo Bisons will be holding an online auction of 34 autographed batting practice jerseys from October 15 to December 5 with proceeds benefiting the Western New York United Against Drug & Alcohol Abuse Foundation. The auction will be held at the official website of the Buffalo Bisons, www.Bisons.com.

Among the jerseys that will be sold are International League Most Valuable Player Jhonny Peralta, IL Manager of the Year Marty Brown, All Star Ernie Young, playoff hero Dusty Wathan, and prospects such as Grady Sizemore, Brandon Phillips, Kyle Denney and Fernando Cabrera. Also, every member of the 2004 Bisons playoff roster is included. Each black mesh jersey was worn by the player throughout the 2004 season and autographed on the numbers on the back.

The auction will be separated into five groups with the first group of seven jerseys to be bid on from October 15 (12:00 a.m. Eastern Time) to October 24 (11:00 p.m. Eastern Time). Each jersey will have a minimum bid, and the winners will be notified via email after the closing time. See below for a full list of groups and minimum bids.

This season, the Bisons broke several long-standing offensive records en route to winning the 2004 International League Championship. The Herd had the highest team batting average (.297) in the IL since the Newark Bears hit .301 in 1938. Buffalo also had the most hits (1,472) for an IL team in 52 years and the most runs scored (848) in 54 years.
