
Bisons Promote RHP J.D. Martin to Herd

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP J.D. Martin has been promoted to the Herd from Double-A Akron.
Martin, 25, has spent the entire season with the Akron Aeros, going 4-3 with a 4.64ERA in 15 games and three starts (33.0IP, 39H, 18R, 17ER, 8BB, 26K). In his last eight games, the pitcher is 2-2 with a 3.38ERA (18.2IP, 7ER, 18K).
Martin was selected by the Indians in the sandwich round (between 1st and 2nd round, 35th overall) of the 2001 First-Year Player Draft. He was 2-3 with a 4.25ERA in nine games with Akron last year. He made a spot start for the Bisons on July 24, 2004 in Syracuse, allowing six runs in five innings of work.
