TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in the third game of a four-game series at Coolray Field (7:05 p.m.) The Herd snapped a three-game losing streak last night with a 6-3 victory. After this four-game series, the Bisons will travel to Charlotte for a four-game series starting Friday June 25.

vs. BRAVES: The Bisons and Braves have split the first two games of this four-game series. That's nothing new for the two clubs, as they also split each four-game set, 2-2, last season in Gwinnett's debut year.

NEW BLOOD: RHP RAMON ORTIZ has been signed by the New York Mets to a minor league contract and will start tonight for the Herd in Gwinnett. The 37-year old righty has had a ten-year big league career that includes an 85-82 record with a 4.93ERA, four ten-win seasons and the 2002 World Series Championship with the Angels. Ortiz made the Dodgers Opening Day roster this season and was 102 with a 6.30ERA in 16 games before being released.

PADILLA POWER: OF JORGE PADILLA continues to display his offensive prowess with his new club. The outfielder went 3-5 at the plate last night with two runs, three RBI, a stolen base and his first home run since joining the Herd on June 19.

BIG NUMBERS FOR THE BIG MAN: INF VALENTINO PASCUCCI has been a force as of late. In the slugger's last four games, he is batting .417 (5-12) with four home runs, a double, five runs and seven RBI. His slugging percentage over the hot streak is 1.500, raising his season slugging percentage to .558. Of his 20 hits this season, 12 have been for extra bases.

LEFTY MIKE: LHP MIKE O'CONNOR has made five consecutive scoreless appearances for the Herd. During the stretch, the lefty has allowed just three hits while striking out seven batters in 6.2 innings of work. On the season, O'Connor has retired the first batter he's faced in 21 of his 25 outings (84%) and has only allowed five of 21 inherited runners to score (24%).

METS UPDATE: Last night, the Mets (40-30) trounced the visiting Tigers, 14-6, in game one of a three-game interleague series. Former Bison INF IKE DAVIS had three hits for New York and added three runs and three RBI. Another former Buffalo player, RHP BOBBY PARNELL, made his 2010 Mets debut throwing one inning of scoreless relief. The Mets and Tigers play again tonight at 7:10 p.m.
