Radio: WWKB AM 1520, bisons.com

TODAY'S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons host the Pawtucket Red Sox in the finale of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd needs a win today to avoid a four-game sweep at the hands of the PawSox. This eight-game homestand began with a split of a four-game set with Norfolk. The club heads south to face the Tides in Norfolk tomorrow.

vs. RED SOX: Since the Bisons returned to the International League in 1998, the Bisons and Red Sox have evenly split their 230 contests. The PawSox have the 5-2 edge this season and are 14-4 in their last 18 games against the Herd. The teams won't meet again until July 12 in Pawtucket

OLE': LHP GARRETT OLSON starts for Buffalo today and matches RHP Matt Harvey and RHP Jeurys Familia with an IL-best 14 starts on the season. The southpaw is coming off a four-inning no-decision on Tuesday after allowing four runs on five hits to the Tides. Olson is also second on the Bisons and 13th in the IL with 63 strikeouts on the season.

LEWIS: OF FRED LEWIS had two more hits last night including his team-best fifth triple. The last Bisons player to have five triples in a season was OF Brad Snyder in 2008. Lewis reached league qualification on Friday night and now is up to 8th in the IL with his .301 average.

HAMPSON: LHP JUSTIN HAMPSON tossed five strikeouts in relief last night, the most punchouts in one game out of the bullpen since RHP Brian Sweeney fanned six on August 20, 2011. Hampson has now allowed just two earned runs in his last 12 appearances. Over that stretch, the southpaw is 3-0 with a 0.95ERA in 19.0 innings of work (25K).

WALK THE LINE: OF VALENTINO PASCUCCI has walked 27 times in his last 25 games. His 46 free passes on the season are tied for the 3rd most in the International League. Last season, Pascucci's 76 walks were 2nd in the IL behind only Pawtucket's Lars Anderson (80).

BISONS BITS: OF FRED LEWIS also leads the Bisons with 12 doubles and 11 stolen bases...Buffalo has 43 stolen bases after only 52 all of last season....RHP FERNANDO CABRERA has 15 saves, three more than any other IL pitcher.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (35-31) dropped a 4-1 decision to the Reds last night. A first-inning RBI-double from INF DAVID WRIGHT accounted for the only New York run. Former Bisons LHP JON NIESE struck out seven in seven innings but took the loss. The Mets look to avoid the three-game sweep today at 1:10 p.m.
