TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Norfolk Tides in the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). Tonight's game begins an eight-game homestand as Buffalo will also host Pawtucket, June 14-17. The Herd is coming off a 4-4 roadtrip to Toledo and Columbus.
vs. TIDES: The Bisons will face the Tides for the first time this season. The Herd went 6-2 against Norfolk last season, including a four-game sweep at Coca-Cola Field from June 24-27. The Bisons have won the last three season series against the Tides with a record of 16-7.
OH, JENRRY!: RHP JENRRY MEJIA takes the hill tonight for the third time this season with the Bisons. The righty has allowed only two runs in 11.1IP in his first two starts. In his last outing, June 4 in Toledo, Mejia allowed just two hits in five shutout innings in a no-decision. The Bisons eventually won the game 2-1 in 10 innings.
RETURN TO BUFFALO: INF JOSH SATIN and RHP PEDRO BEATO return to Buffalo tonight from New York. Satin had one pinch-hit at-bat with the Mets during his call-up while Beato did not pitch. Satin hit .274 with 10 doubles, three home runs and 15RBI in 54 games with the Bisons this season. Beato was with the Herd for an MLB injury assignment and was 2-0 with a 1.00ERA in six outings (9.0IP, 5H, 6K).
ALL-STAR UPDATE: SP MATT HARVEY, SS OMAR QUINTANILLA, and DH VALENTINO PASCUCCI currently lead their respective positions in All-Star fan online voting. OF MATT TUIASOSOPO (3rd) and RP FERNANDO CABRERA (2nd) are also in position to be elected the IL All-Star Team.
BISONS BITS: In his last 13 appearances, LHP JOSH EDGIN is 1-1 with a 1.63ERA. The southpaw has yielded just nine hits in his last 16.1 innings of work. RHP FERNANDO CABRERA leads the International League with 13 saves this season. He is a perfect 13-13 converting save opportunities...RHP VALENTINO PASCUCCI ranks fifth in the IL in RBI (41), sixth in home runs (12) and tied for 4th in walks (40).
METS UPDATE : The Mets (32-27) lost to the Yankees yesterday afternoon by a score of 9-1. LHP JOHAN SANTANA went 5.0IP and got the loss coming off his no-hitter. Former Bison OF LUCAS DUDA knocked in the Mets lone run with an RBI double in the ninth. The Mets play the second game of a three game set with the crosstown rival Yankees at Yankee Stadium tonight (7:15 p.m.).
