Bismark vs. Owatonna preview

The Central Division-leading Bismarck Bobcats (33-13-2, 68 points) play a two-game home series against the Owatonna Express (26-21-2, 54 points) beginning Friday night in the V.F.W. Sports Center. The Bobcats have won six of the eight games this season against the Express. Bismarck is four wins away from tying a franchise record for wins (37) and have ten games remaining in the regular season.

The matchup between the Bobcats and Express will feature one of the top defensive teams (Bismarck) in the North American Hockey League going up against one of the top offensive teams in the league. The Bobcats have allowed 104 goals, which leads the league in fewest allowed. Owatonna has scored 187 goals as a team and have become one of the premier offensive teams in the league.

There are four players combined from both teams committed to play for the Air Force Academy. Bismarck's goalie David Bosner and center Jason Fabian will eventually be teammates with Owatonna's center Stephen Carew and forward John Kruse, who have all made their commitments to the Air Force this past season.

The Bobcats beat the Express in the last game between the two teams on February 7th winning 2-0.

The Bobcats have the sixth best power play in the NAHL at17.8%. Bismarck's penalty kill is third in the league at 88.3%.

Owatonna's power play is ranked 12th at 15.7%, while their penalty kill is fifth at 87.6%.
