
Bishop Leads Cats to 16-5 Win over Colts

Center fielder Cody Bishop led the Fort Worth Cats to a 16-5 win over the San Angelo Colts on Thursday night, going 4-for-7 with seven RBI.
The Cats (31-16) scored one run in the second inning, another in the third, two in the fourth and then broke the game open with a three-run fifth and sixth.
With the loss, the Colts drop to under .500 at 23-24 and are eight games behind the Cats for first place in United League Baseball.
Aljay Davis, who leads the league in batting average, hit his first home run of the season in the eighth inning.
Starting pitcher Cole Stephens went 5.2 innings, allowing five runs and striking out three.
Stephen Nikonchik and James Giullieti came on and threw 3.1 innings of scoreless relief.
The Cats go for the series sweep in San Angelo on Friday at 7:05 p.m. before heading to Edinburg for a four-game series with the Roadrunners.
After the Edinburg series, the Cats head home for an eight-game homestand beginning July 17.
