Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MOBILE, Ala. - Chase Anderson (2-0) threw his second scoreless-outing as the Biscuits (3-3) were shutout for the first time of the season in a 6-0 loss to the Mobile BayBears (3-3) at Hank Aaron Stadium on Wednesday night.

The only jam Anderson found himself in came in the third inning when the Biscuits loaded the bases with only one out. Anderson struck out Curt Casali and got Cameron Seitzer to fly out to center to end the inning. Anderson allowed four hits while striking out six for the win. He has not allowed a run in two starts in 2014.

Montgomery picked up eight hits on the night but never the timely-hit. The Biscuits went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base.

The BayBears scored three runs in the third inning then tacked on one run in the sixth off of Biscuits starter Victor Mateo (0-2). Mobile scored two more times with a two-run single from Jon Griffin in the seventh inning to make it a 6-0 game.

Richie Shaffer finished the night 2-for-4 as the only Biscuit with a multi-hit game.

Game two between the Biscuits and BayBears is Thursday night at 7:05. RH Dylan Floro will be on the hill for the Biscuits with LH Andrew Chafin on the mound for Mobile.
