Billy Dicken Named Offensive Player of the Week

April 29, 2003 –Rush quarterback Billy Dicken was named this week's Arena Football League Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Chicago's 54-46 win over Grand Rapids, the AFL announced today.

Dicken completed 20 of 24 passes for 235 yards in the victory. He passes for four touchdowns and rushed for another in leading the Rush to its third win in four games.

"It's a well-deserved award," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "Billy has worked hard to come back from his injury. He is playing well and has our team believing in him."

Dicken's play Sunday capped off a month in which the quarterback returned from a broken jaw while regaining his 2002 form. In April, Dicken led the Rush to a 3-1 record, completing 70 percent of his passes (71-102), for 884 yards and 22 touchdowns while throwing only three interceptions. Dicken also rushed for two touchdowns in the month.

This week the Rush (6-7) travels to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Cobras (0-13) Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 1000, with Tom Dore and John Jurkovic calling all the action.

The Rush returns home to Allstate Arena Sunday, May 11, at 2 p.m. to host the Arizona Rattlers.
