Bighorns Defeat Vipers in Overtime at Home

RENO, NV - The Bighorns got their first victory at home Wednesday night at the Reno Events Center when they defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 137-133 in an overtime thriller.

Erick Green led the Bighorns, netting 30 points and adding nine rebounds and two assists. Vince Hunter logged his sixth double-double of the season, notching 24 points and 14 rebounds while Ricky Ledo had 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the Wednesday night contest. Hunter finished the game going 10-14 from the field.

Ledo led the Bighorns in the first quarter with 12 points and two assists. David Stockton followed Ledo closely, netting eight points and adding four assists. The Bighorns shot 63.6 percent from the filed compared to the Viper's 48.1 percent in the third quarter.

In the second quarter, Green notched 12 points and added two rebounds. Duje Dukan tallied seven points as Reggie Hearn totaled four points. Dukan and Green both went 3-5 from the field in the quarter. The Bighorns lead the Vipers by more 13 during the quarter.

The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half leading the Vipers 70-59.

During the third quarter, Hunter led the Bighorns with nine points and five rebounds. Dukan had seven points and three rebounds while Ledo netted six points and grabbed three rebounds. The Bighorns lead the Vipers by 17 midway through the quarter.

Hunter led the Bighorns with 10 points and six rebounds in the final quarter as Green and Stockton tallied six points each. The Vipers came back from a 17 point deficit in the final quarter to tie the game 129-129.

In overtime, Ledo notched three points and one rebound while Green and Stockton had two point each. Bighorns outscored the Vipers in overtime 8-4.

The Bighorns travel to Oklahoma City for their next contest to face the Oklahoma City Blue on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
