Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
Corpus Christi, TX - This Friday night the Corpus Christi Rayz hockey team is proud to be teaming up with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter for a great cause. The Rayz and the MS Society are pleased to call Friday night's Rayz game, "MS Benefit Night" at the Memorial Coliseum. Portions from all ticket sale proceeds will go to help finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
The Corpus Christi Rayz have only two home games left before the off-season, and Friday Night is a great opportunity for the people of Corpus Christi to have a great time, while making a difference in their community.
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Diagnosis usually occurs between the ages of 20 and 50, and the unpredictable physical and emotional effects can be life-long. There are approximately 400,000 Americans and 14,600 South Texans currently suffering from MS.
Friday night's game is part of a nationwide effort by the MS Society to raise $37 million to help rid the country of this debilitating disease. In the United States, at least 200 new cases of MS are diagnosed each week, which translates to more than one person every hour. With the help of the Corpus Christi community, however, that number can be lowered significantly. The Rayz and the public need your support. Make sure to come out this Friday night and be part of a winning team. The Corpus Christi Rayz, the MS Society and you can make a difference. Please be there Friday night and help the Rayz and the MS Society win their biggest fight of the year. Call 814-7825 for tickets now. The game starts at 7:05pm. Doors will open up at 6:05pm.
The Rayz conclude their 2003-04 Central Hockey League season this weekend with two home games Friday and Saturday night, and then an away game in Odessa on Sunday. Both home games start at 7:05pm. Friday night, the President's Cup Trophy, awarded annually to the CHL playoff champion, will be at the Coliseum on Friday and Saturday night, the players will be auctioning their game used sweaters off their back to the fans and signing autographs. Tickets are still available for the last chance to see Rayz hockey this year. Call (361) 814-PUCK for more ticket information.
