Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NO NHL, NO PROBLEM: Dallas Stars desperate for a hockey fix need to make plans to be at the Brahmas home game this Friday night, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. when Brenden Morrow and the Oklahoma City Blazers will be in town at the Fort Worth Convention Center to take on the Brahmas.

The Dallas Stars winger is the only NHL player currently playing in the CHL as a result of the NHL lockout. In 15 games this season with the Blazers, Morrow has scored 5 goals and assisted on 11 others while playing at a +4 rating.

Friday night will be the first of three scheduled visits that Morrow will make to Cowtown with the Blazers. Fans can expect an intense game, as the Blazers will be looking to avenge a 3-2 loss to Fort Worth this past Saturday night at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City.

PURPLE POWER: The Friday night December 3rd game versus Oklahoma City will also be the Brahmas' TCU Appreciation night. The Brahmas players will be wearing commemorative TCU themed jerseys for the game, and the jerseys will be auctioned off to the fans immediately following the game in a live auction. A portion of the proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the TCU General Scholarship Fund. Any TCU employee or student that presents a TCU ID at the FWCC box office on Friday night will receive a $3.00 discount on any $15.00 or $13.00 ticket. The TCU band is also scheduled to perform throughout the game, and there will be appearances by the TCU Cheerleaders and Super Frog.

BRING OUT YOUR TOYS: The Brahmas will be working with JPS Health Network this weekend to assist JPS in toy collection for the annual JPS Toy Giveaway.

For the games on Friday night, Dec. 3 vs. Oklahoma City and Sunday afternoon Dec. 5 vs. Rio Grande Valley, JPS staffers will be stationed in the FWCC main lobby and in the FWCC arena concourse collecting new or gently used toys from Brahmas fans to use in their toy giveaway to underprivileged families this holiday season. Bring out your toys this weekend to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

BACK (PACK) YOUR BRAHMAS: The first 2,000 kids 12 and under through the FWCC gates on Saturday, Dec. 4 when the Brahmas host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees will receive a FREE Brahmas backpack courtesy of ESPN Radio 103.3 FM. Bring the kids out for some Brahmas hockey and pick up a FREE backpack. For additional information, please contact the Brahmas office at (817) 336-4423.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS: For Saturday night's game against the Killer Bees, the Brahmas are asking that all fans bring a new or gently used teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game. When the Brahmas score their first goal of the game against the Killer Bees, fans will be instructed to throw their stuffed animal on the ice as part of the Brahmas annual "Teddy Bear Toss". All the animals that are collected will be delivered to JPS hospital next week by selected Brahmas players. Additionally, all fans who bring teddy bears or stuffed animals on Saturday night will receive a voucher good for two free complimentary tickets to the Brahmas home game on Tuesday, Dec. 21 vs. Austin.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON HOCKEY: The Brahmas will conclude their three game weekend homestand this Sunday afternoon, Dec. 5, with a 3:00 p.m. afternoon game against the Killer Bees. The game will mark the second time this season that the Brahmas have played the same team on back-to-back nights. On Nov. 13 and Nov. 14, the Brahmas beat the Memphis RiverKings in two consecutive games.

For additional information on this weekend's events, please contact the Brahmas team office at (817) 336-4423. To purchase individual Brahmas game tickets, stop by any Tarrant County Ultimate Electronics location.
