Indiana Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice announced today that centerman Todd McIlrath will return to the Indiana Ice for the 2005-06 season.

McIlrath was the Ice's top scorer and the second leading scorer in the USHL last year before a late January knee injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. In 35 games with the club, he registered 41 points (13G, 28A).

The veteran center is scheduled to begin skating in August and should be ready for the season opener in late September. He already has a letter of intent to attend Division One Bowling Green State University (CCHA) for the 2006-07 season.

In other news, the Ice also added forward Eric Miller and defenseman Mike Phillippi to its roster. Miller played in nine games for the Ice last year and was the top scorer on the local Indianapolis Checkers. Phillippi will be making his USHL debut after completing his senior season at Hill Murray High School in Minnesota. To make room on the roster for the trio, the Ice released forward Harrison Niemann and defensemen Mike Beck and Tony Yearego.

The Ice opens up its second season of USHL hockey on the road on Saturday, September 24th and has its home opener on Saturday, October 8th against Des Moines.

Indiana Ice season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Ice office at (317) 925-4423. For all the latest information on the Ice, check out the web site at www.indianaice.com.
