Bias Grabs NBDL Record 24 Rebounds in 113-104 Win

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Dec. 11 – Forward Rodney Bias set a National Basketball Development League record with 24 rebounds as the Huntsville Flight defeated the Florida Flame 113-104 at the Von Braun Center. Bias added 18 points and four assists during his recording setting night, as the Flight improved to 5-3.

The Flight took control early, as Bias had a double-double in the first quarter with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Huntsville had balanced scoring as eight of the Flight's 10 players scored in the quarter. Huntsville continued to control the action in the second quarter, taking a 53-38 into the half.

Florida managed to get to within seven in the fourth quarter on Kevin Braswell's lay-up with 3:46 to go, but Huntsville scored seven of the next nine points to put the game away.

Huntsville's Joe Shipp and Damone Brown each had 23 points as nine Flight players got in the scoring column. Bias broke his previous record of 22 rebounds in a game, set last April against Columbus.

Florida was led by Kirk Haston's 24 points and seven rebounds. The Flame drop to 1-4, losing their first road game of the season.

The Flight travel to Fayetteville to take on the Patriots next Friday and Saturday. Florida plays at Asheville Tuesday night.
