Berkshire Black Bears Announce Wahconah Park Holiday Events

PITTSFIELD-The Berkshire Black Bears will end their three game home stand against the Adirondack Lumberjacks at Wahconah Park on Wednesday night with a spectacular fireworks show. The event will begin a series of events over the next 24 hours at Wahconah Park celebrating America's birthday.

On July 4th the Berkshire Black Bears will open Wahconah Park to the general public beginning at 4pm. From 4 to 6:30 residents and visitors are invited to watch the Camp Challenge Baseball Game between Camp Winadu and Camp Lenox. Beginning at 7pm a variety show featuring several acts will be held on the infield. The acts appearing in the following order are; Ventriloquist John Niner (7-7:30), Berkshire Highlanders (7:30-7:50), An Old Fashioned Patriotic Sing Along with Paul Nixon, Carlton Mia III, Rhiannon Kopnec and Jeff Hunt (7:55-8:25), The David Munnley Band from Pittsfield's Irish Sister City Ballina (8:30-9:15) and the Patriots Marching Band 9:15-9:30.

Berkshire County's largest fireworks display, sponsored by ElectraStor and the Pittsfield Parade Committee Inc. will begin at approximately 9:30. Patriotic music for the fireworks will be simulcast on WBRK, Star 101.7 and WUPE, 95.9. Beginning at 4pm all concession stands and vender booths will be open. Admission to Wahconah Park is free on the 4th of July.
