Bergeron, Rusch Can-Am League Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC -- The Can-Am League announced today that New Jersey Jackals INF Jabe Bergeron and Quebec Capitales RHP Matthew Rusch have been named the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week. The selection was made by Pointstreak, the official statistician of the Can-Am League.

Bergeron batted .500 in five games this past week. In 16 at-bats, he collected eight hits, four of which were home runs, scored five runs and had a huge 1.250 slugging percentage. The New York City resident also drove in five runs to go along with a .579 on-base percentage. On the season, Bergeron is hitting .277 with seven home runs and 19 runs batted in.

Rusch continued his strong season with wins over Worcester and New Jersey. He gave up two earned runs on 10 hits in 13 innings pitched. The Schenectady, NY resident fanned 14 batters and sported an earned run average of 1.39. Rusch is currently a perfect 6-0 (Tied for 1st in league) on the season with an ERA of 2.25 (1st in league).
