
Benoit Collects 200th Career Point In Win

Kitchener, ON: Defenseman Andre Benoit continued his stellar play this season with a 4-point night in the Rangers 6-5 triumph over the visiting Erie Otters in front of a crowd of 6,009.
The Rangers trailed 1-0 in the first period until Andre Benoit connected with his 19th goal of the season at 10:44 to tie the game at 1-1. The goal was Benoit's 200th career OHL point. Benoit wasted little time getting his 201st point with his second of the game at 16:32.
In the second period the Rangers built up a 4-2 lead on goals by Nathan O'Nabigon and Craig Voakes. The Otters responded with two goals of their own to tie the game at 4-4. Michael Richards gave the Rangers the lead with his 17th of the season at 19:20.
In the third period Petr Kanko put the Rangers up 6-4 with his 16th at 5:42. Michael Blunden made it interesting with his second of the game to bring the Otters to within one.
Brad Topping picked up his 3rd win in three consecutive starts stopping 35 shots.
The Rangers next home game is Friday, January 16th vs the Barrie Colts. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
