Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has agreed to a three-year contract with Tye Belanger. The 23-year-old goaltender, who was a second-round selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, finished fourth in the NLL in goals-against average (10.77) last season.
"Tye has impressed us thus far in his young career," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "He's a confident, young player who can backstop this team for a long time. Locking him in for the next three years was one of our top off-season priorities."
Belanger boasted a 5-2 record and a .776 save percentage in 412 minutes played in 2013.
The Mooretown, Ontario native began last season on the Physically Unable to Perform List due to an off-field injury. He was added to the team's 23-man Active Roster on February 25 and made his season debut one week later.
Colorado now has 14 players under contract, including 11 returners.
