Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - After providing some offensive fireworks on the road in a 16-11 victory over Albuquerque, the Salt Lake Bees will come home for literal fireworks, twice. The Bees' Memorial Day Weekend series against the Reno Aces will feature two promotions with postgame fireworks extravaganzas, the first being on Military Night on Friday, the second coming on Monday to celebrate Memorial Day.

On the field, the Bees remain sharp, holding a first-place standing in the division. They'll have to replace some power hitting after slugger Chris Carter was traded to the Minnesota Twins organization. Rymer Liriano has picked up the slack with four homers in his last five games and Jabari Blash remains the PCL's home run with 14 dingers. David Fletcher has slowed down a bit from his red-hot start to the season, but still holds the top spot in several PCL categories, including doubles, extra-base hits and strikeout to plate appearance ratio.

This series against Reno is the first time that both team have met this season. Interestingly, Salt Lake's all-time record against Reno is knotted up at 72-72 with both teams holding a 39-33 record at home. The Aces took the season series 9-7 in 2017 and outscored the Bees 106-99.

In addition to the fireworks celebration on Friday, the evening will be dedicated to the armed forces as part of Military Night. The team will dress in special camouflage uniforms and the game atmosphere will be filled with demonstrations of appreciation towards those who serve our country.
