Bees Fight off Timber Rattlers

(Burlington, IA)- It turned out to be a pitchers duel Tuesday night at Community Field in Burlington. Only three total runs were scored in a Bees 2-1 win, winning their fifth in a row.

The Bees struck first in the third inning, scoring a run on a fielder's choice grounded into by Mark Shannon, who was just able to beat the throw on a relay from second scoring Exicardo Cayones.

Anthony Bemboom added to the Bees lead with an RBI single in the fourth, scoring Eric Aguilera, make the score 2-0.

Wisconsin would attempt to rally scoring a run on a wild pitch in the sixth inning but a pair of base running mistakes by the Timber Rattlers kept the Bees in front as they would hang on to win 2-1.

Bees starter Ryan Etsell (2-0) picked up the win working six innings allowing just one run on six hits. Wisconsin starter Barrett Astin (3-1) was charged with the loss while Alan Busenitz (4) earned the save.

The Bees their four game series with the Timber Rattlers, tomorrow night at 6:30 PM. Clint Sharp will get the start for the Bees and will be opposed by Anthony Banda for the Timber Rattlers.
