Bees Fall to Americans 3-1 on Wednesday Night

HIDALGO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (3-4-0) fell to the Allen Americans (3-2-2) on Wednesday night by a 3-1 score. The two teams played a 2-1 game for a majority of the evening but a late Colton Yellow Horn goal iced the victory for the Americans. David Marshall recorded the lone Bees goal.

The Americans first got on the board at 4:05 of the first period as Josh Hepditch deflected a Keith Johnson shot to the back of the net.

The Americans struck again at 9:38 as Keith Johnson put in a rebound off a Bruce Graham shot at 9:38 of the first while on the power-play.

David Marshall would get the Bees within one at 10:19 of the first period after picking up an outlet pass from AJ Mikkelsen, Marshall skated the puck into the zone and ripped a shot glove side at 10:19.

The two teams would remain at 2-1 until Colton Yellow Horn scored at 16:33 of the third period to secure the Allen victory.

John Murray made 26 saves in net for the Bees.
