Bees Drop Heartbreaker
June 2, 2021 - Pacific Coast League (PCL)
Salt Lake Bees News Release
The Salt Lake Bees dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker loss to the Round Rock Express on Tuesday night at Smith's Ballpark.
Round Rock scored in the top of the first, but the Bees immediately answered back with a leadoff homer from Jo Adell in the bottom of the first. The Express would retake the lead with two runs in the fourth, but Matt Thaiss tied the game again with a two-run dinger in the sixth. In the seventh Round Rock's Anderson Tejeda singled and stole second base, coming around to score on an error. The error proved costly as Tejeda's run proved to be the difference maker.
Dillon Peters finished the night with a quality start tossing six innings with 10 strikeouts, a new team season-high. Austin Warren took the loss in relief of Peters allowing only the unearned run. AJ Ramos and Tim Peterson finished the game for the Bees pitching staff allowing no runs and one hit while striking out four over the final two innings.
The Bees now travel to Tacoma for their second series of the year against the Rainiers starting on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. and can be heard on The Zone Sports Network.
