Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, Nebraska â As the Omaha Beef Football organization continues to reorganize the front office they today announce the combining of the General Manager and Head Coach positions. With this change Sandy Buda steps down as Head Coach to pursue his career with Riddell full time.
"The four years I have spent coaching indoor football, the Beef, players, coaches and fans have been enjoyable," said Buda. "I really appreciated Jay Noddle asking me back for the 2004 season. Unfortunately my Riddell job will not allow me to wear two Beef hats, General Manager and Head Coach. I wish them well and will be acting as a consultant for them."
Heartland Sports Enterprises President Jay Noddle said, "It is our opinion that the business of minor league sports in Omaha, Nebraska requires a full time General Manager/Head Coach. Sandy has a great job with Riddell and it is one that he is very committed to. He has been a terrific asset to the Beef organization and we are very pleased that he has agreed to remain an active member of the Beef family because he can help us in a variety of ways off the field."
Buda leaves the Beef as Head Coach with an overall four-year record of 44-21. He has led the team to four straight playoff berths and an Indoor Professional Football League regular season championship in 2001. He was also honored in 2001 with the Indoor Professional Football League Coach of the Year award. Under Buda's leadership the team earned it's best record in 2001 going 15-2 on the season.
