Beavers Set For Opening Night Thursday At PGE Park

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers begin the 2010 Pacific Coast League season Thursday at PGE Park with Opening Night, presented by PGE. The Beavers' Opening Weekend features exciting giveaways and events as they play host to the Sacramento River Cats in a four-game series.

Presented by PGE, Opening Night helps kick off the Beavers' home schedule with a full slate of activities and fun giveaways. In traditional Opening Night fashion, fans will be treated to special full-team introductions and special performance of the national anthem. Beavers players will be on hand to welcome fans at the gates, which open at 6 p.m. The first 2,000 fans receive a 2010 magnet schedule, presented by PGE. New in 2010, Miller Lite Thursday features a variety of specials prior to the first pitch from 6-7 p.m. in the Widmer Garden.

The celebration of the Beavers' Opening Night continues throughout the weekend, as the first 2,000 fans for each game over Opening Weekend also receives a 2010 magnet schedule courtesy of PGE.

On Friday, the Beavers host their first Zenner's $1 Menu Friday of the season, featuring a select menu of Zenner's hot dogs, Sierra Springs water and Fudgesicle and Creamsicle treats for only $1.

Once again, kids are treated to a special day each Sunday at PGE Park on Kids Sunday. Prior to the first pitch, kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beavers' Kids-Eat-Free plan, play catch on the field, and after the game, run the bases. This Sunday is the first of three "Meet the Team" days during the 2010 season, allowing fans to meet a group of this year's Beavers players and get autographs.

Saturday's matchup against the River Cats will be broadcast live on FSN, with broadcasters Rich Burk and Scott Anderson calling the action.

The team's first homestand of the season continues through April 15, as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox visit the Rose City for a four-game series.

Courtesy of PGE, the first 2,000 fans receive a 2010 magnet schedule as part of Opening Weekend. The game against Sacramento will be broadcast live on FSN.

Sunday, April 11 Opening Weekend/Kids Sunday - Beavers vs. Sacramento - 2:05 p.m. Opening Weekend and the four-game series against the River Cats concludes with Kids Sunday at PGE Park. The first 2,000 fans in attendance receive a 2010 magnet schedule, presented by PGE. Prior to the first pitch, kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beavers' Kids-Eat-Free plan and play catch on the field. Sunday also marks the team's first "Meet the Team" day, allowing fans to meet some of their favorite players and get autographs. After the game, kids are invited to run the bases. Special activities for kids, including face painters, will also be featured.
