August 12, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Portland Beavers News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers play host to the Albuquerque Isotopes and Round Rock Express on an eight-game homestand starting Friday night at PGE Park. Highlights of the homestand include Mystery Ball Weekend, Lucky's Birthday Bash and a post-game fireworks celebration.

The homestand starts with the return of Mystery Ball Weekend to PGE Park. From Friday to Sunday, fans can purchase one of nearly 100 baseballs signed by a mystery player or players - ranging from past and current Beavers to PCL prospects to hall-of-famers - for a great low price, with proceeds going to the Portland Beavers & Portland Timbers Community Fund, which benefits local youth organizations.

On Saturday's 'What If?' Night, the promotions crew explores what life would be like had the 'Portland Penny' landed on the other side back in 1845 and Portland had, in fact, been named Boston. The "Boston Beavers" square off with the Albuquerque Isotopes at 7:05 p.m., with the first 2,000 fans receiving Boston Beavers caps presented by PGE as part of the season-long Fred Meyer Super Giveaway Saturday promotion.

Anchoring the homestand is Kids Club Sunday, presented by Dairy Farmers of Oregon, when the Beavers take on Albuquerque at 2:05 p.m. In addition to Lucky's Birthday Bash, Sunday is Back-to-School Day. Courtesy of Supercuts, the first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive Beavers drawstring bags, which are on everyone's back-to-school shopping lists. Before gates open at 1 p.m., Dairy Farmers of Oregon Kids Club members can enjoy exclusive benefits, including a photo shoot in the Beavers dugout. All kids can enjoy player autographs and play catch on the field before the game, and, as always, take advantage of the Kids-Eat-Free plan before first pitch. Once the game starts, Lucky will have all his mascot friends around to take part in celebrating his birthday.

The homestand also features the final Beavers Miller Lite Thursday, when the Beavers square off with Round Rock on Aug. 19. In addition to pre-game food and beverage specials in the Widmer Garden, fans will be treated to a concert by one of Portland's up-and-coming bands. The party kicks off at 6 p.m., when gates open.

Friday night's homestand finale against Round Rock will be followed by an exciting fireworks display, emanating from the center field concourse. Friday is also the final Cricket Wireless Family four pack game of the season. Family four packs start at just $48 and include game tickets, meal vouchers, Cricket Wireless Family Plan Coupons and Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center attraction tickets.

All homestand long, Schoolhouse Supplies, with the help of Supercuts, will be running a school supplies drive to help those in need for the upcoming school year.

Tickets for the Beavers series against Albuquerque, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Round Rock, the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, are available through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000. Convenient and affordable group and suite packages are available through the Beavers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
