
Beavers make a few roster moves

Portland, OR- The Portland Beavers today activated left-handed pitcher Matt Hampton from the disabled list, placed right-handed pitcher Lou Pote on the disabled list with a strained right shoulder and announced that right-handed pitcher Steve Watkins has been transferred to Portland from Class AA Mobile.
Hampton was placed on the disabled list on June 23 with a sprained left ankle. In 17 games out of the bullpen with the Beavers this season, Hampton is 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA (12er, 26.2ip).
Pote, who joined the Beavers on June 19 after stints in the Athletics and Indians organizations, is 1-0 with a 7.20 ERA (4er, 5.0ip) in four appearances with Portland.
Watkins marks his second stint of the season with the Beavers. After beginning the year at Class AA Mobile, he originally was transferred to Portland on May 27 and was returned to the BayBears on June 23. In six starts with the Beavers, Watkins is 2-3 with a 4.41 ERA (16er, 32.2ip) and 41 strikeouts.
In 10 starts at Mobile, Watkins was 4-3 with a 3.64 ERA (24er, 59.1ip) and 57 strikeouts.
The roster is set at the 24-man maximum.
