Memphis Redbirds News Release
THE OPPOSITION: The Redbirds host their in-state rival Nashville Sounds for the first time this season over the Fourth of July. Memphis went 1-3 in Nashville at the beginning of May and looks to rebound at AutoZone Park, where the club was 6-2 against the Sounds last season.
HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS: The seventh homestand of the season kicks off with an Independence Day fireworks extravaganza. Sunday's game will also feature an Elvis theme to celebrate the 50th anniversary of rock and roll. Monday is Bobble Mania Monday, and Tuesday is Time Warner Tuesday and Millington Community Night. The homestand concludes with the second Working Money Wednesday of the season, when the first 1500 fans will receive a cash amount ranging from $1 to $100 from First Tennessee.
GREAT GIVEAWAYS: Bobble Mania Monday highlights the four-game homestand, featuring Adam Wainwright bobbleheads on July 5. Other giveaways include Cellular South fans (July 4), the Time Warner Special Surprise (July 6) and cash on Working Money Wednesday, July 7.
SUMMER HOME: The Beazer Homes summer home giveaway kicked off June 14; a total of 30 contestants will get the chance to win a home, and the first four finalists have already been drawn. The drawing will be held at the Aug. 22 game vs. Omaha. Fans can register at the ballpark or at any of the seven area Beazer homes locations.
LOOKING AHEAD: Memphis travels to Albuquerque for four games before the Triple-A All-Star break July 12-14. Redbirds John Gall and Dan Haren have been named to the PCL team that will take on the International League All-Stars July 14 in Pawtucket, R.I. Memphis returns to AutoZone Park for a four-game homestand against Iowa July 15-18.
