Colorado Eagles News Release

LOVELAND, CO. - Eagles forward J.C. Beaudin scored two goals, while goaltender Joe Cannata turned aside 28 of the 29 shots thrown his way, as Colorado defeated the Greenville Swamp Rabbits 3-1 on Friday. The victory was the third straight win for the Eagles and now gives Colorado points in five consecutive games.

The Eagles wasted little time in jumping on the scoreboard, as Beaudin created a turnover at his own blue line and darted down the right wing before blasting a shot past Greenville goalie Brandon Halverson to give Colorado the 1-0 edge just 1:20 into the contest.

The Swamp Rabbits would draw even when forward Dawson Leedahl stepped into a one-timer from the left circle to light the lamp and tie the game at 1-1 at the 9:29 mark of the first period.

Greenville would start the second period with 1:02 remaining on a 5-on-3 power play, but Colorado's penalty kill would slam the door and keep the Swamp Rabbits off of the board. The effort would then lead to a big goal for the Eagles later in the period, as Michael Joly would find fellow forward Matt Garbowsky in the high slot and the Eagles captain would wire a wrister into the back of the net to give Colorado a 2-1 lead with 10:32 left in the middle frame.

Colorado would extend its lead late in the third period when Beaudin swatted a rebound out of midair and past Halverson to put the Eagles up 3-1 with just 2:49 left to play in regulation.

The Swamp Rabbits would pull Halverson in favor of the extra attacker in the final two minutes of the contest, but Cannata and company would hold strong and secure the 3-1 victory.

Colorado finished the night 0-2 on the power play, but held Greenville without a goal on their three opportunities on the man-advantage.

The Eagles return to action on Friday, November 24th at 7:05pm when they face the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at the Budweiser Events Center.

Season tickets for the 2017-18 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $100 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468).
