Bears Split with Wilderness in Convincing Fashion

The Bears responded Saturday night in front of the largest crowd of the season (1,055) with a hard fought win over division foe Wilderness. The first period the Bears had chances, but couldn't capitalize. Alec Derks came up with 10 first period saves in his first start of the season. and the period ended in a zero, zero tie. The second saw Minnesota score first, but the Brown Bears pushed back and responded with goals by Joey Sardina (Wunder) and Jack Gessert (Campbell, Schachle). The third period Minnesota pushed, but Derks came up with timely saves and the Bears tallied half way through to extend there lead to 3-1. Goal from : Maurin Bouvet (Schachle, Gessert) Derks remained solid from there and the Bears carried the pace in the last half of the third tallying two more empty net goals from: Jack Gessert (unassisted) and Tanner Schachle (Burglund).
