
Bears Drop Opener to Wilderness

Kenai River Brown Bears News Release
The Minnesota Wilderness came to town for a Mid West Division showdown. The Brown Bears came out flat allowing a goal 31 seconds into the opening period. From there things went down hill allowing 2 more goals in eleven minutes, on seven shots. Back up Goalie Alec Derks was inserted after the third goal. Jack Gessert scored late in the first assisted by Kresl and Berglund. Being down two the Bears pushed but could not solve goalie Brock Kautz. The third period saw an up hill battle being down three, and didn't start well allowing a goal 38 seconds in and then another 2 minutes later. The bears tallied one more goal late, but couldn't pull off a comeback. Third period goal scored by: Joe Kaszupski (Jackstadt, Berglund).
