
Beard And Currie To Join Training Camp

Washington, D.C. -Washington Mystics players Alana Beard and Monique are scheduled to join training camp on Wednesday, May 7th. They will be joined by Laurie Koehn and Chandi Jones. Today, Washington waived guards Sarah-Jo Lawrence and Rashida Suber as well as forward Jillian Robbins.
They Mystics are coming off their first pre-season win against the Sacramento Monarchs at the Bob Martinez Sports Complex in Tampa, Florida. Washington was led by Taj McWilliams-Franklin who scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Mystics will travel to Madison Square Garden and take on the New York Liberty on Thursday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. Washington will practice at the Verizon Center on Wednesday, May 7th from 9:45 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2008 season on Saturday, May 17th, on the road against the Indiana Fever. Washington will host the club's home opener on Sunday, May 25th, against the four-time WNBA Champion Houston Comets at 4:00 p.m. Individual tickets are currently on sale on www.ticketmaster.com.
