TONIGHT'S LYNX GAME
LYNX AT FEVER- 7:00 P.M.- CONSECO FIELDHOUSE
Minnesota travels to Indiana tonight to take on the Fever at Conseco Fieldhouse. Indiana downed the Lynx twice last season, winning 83-64 back on May 19, 2007 in Indiana and 89-75 ten days later at Target Center. In the teams' first meeting, Tan White's 17 points led five double-figure scorers, and Indiana hit 63 percent in the second half to pull away to an 83-64 victory over the Lynx on May 19 at Conseco Fieldhouse. Tamika Whitmore tallied 16 points and Tamika Catchings netted 12 points and seven rebounds for the Fever. Seimone Augustus' 16 points led Minnesota, while Nicole Ohlde chipped in 15 points and nine rebounds. In the final contest, Indiana received 21 points from Tamika Catchings and used a 12-0 run after half-time to pull away from the Lynx, 89-75, on May 29 at Target Center. Catchings added six rebounds and six assists while Tamika Whitmore tallied 17 points for the Fever. Seimone Augustus topped Minnesota with 23 points, with Lindsey Harding chipping in 17 points and six assists. With the sweep, the Fever increased their lead in the all-time series to 9-5. The home team has won five of the past six meetings between Minnesota and Indiana, with the Lynx' most recent victory a 92-87 decision on June 2, 2006. Minnesota is just 1-6 at Conseco Fieldhouse, winning 70-65 on July 26, 2003. Newcomer Anna DeForge will return to Indiana after signing with the Lynx in the off-season. DeForge spent the past two seasons with the Fever, averaging 8.7 ppg for Indiana in the 2007 season. The Fever come into tonight's game against the Lynx with a 0-1 preseason record after falling to the Chicago Sky, 81-71 Saturday, May 3. In the teams' only other preseason meeting, the Fever bested the Lynx 68-57 back on May 21, 2002 at Target Center. The Lynx open the 2008 regular season schedule May 18 when they play host to the defending WNBA champion Detroit Shock.
MINNESOTA LYNX UNVEIL "10 DAYS OF MAY-HEM"
The Minnesota Lynx unveiled yesterday the "10 Days of May-hem," a comprehensive community outreach plan presented by Best Buy that features nearly 20 events and a host of media appearances throughout the Twin Cities during the 10 days leading into the team's opening game of the 2008 10th Anniversary Season. Beginning on May 9 and leading into the Lynx season-opening game, presented by Best Buy, against the Detroit Shock on May 18, the Lynx will bolster their presence in the community with events designed to bring the fun and excitement of Lynx Basketball as well as expand the team's community outreach to several nonprofit and charitable organizations throughout the Twin Cities metro area. The events and appearances by the Lynx players and coaches will be chronicled throughout the "10 Days of May-hem" on lynxbasketball.com. The "10 Days of May-hem" will be highlighted by an open practice at Target Center on Saturday, May 10, from 2-5 p.m. at Target Center, as well as visits to the Gillette Children's Hospital, CommonBond Communities, and Ronald McDonald House. The "10 Days of May-hem" will close with the Lynx players singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch at the Minnesota Twins' game against the Texas Rangers on Monday, May 19. The Lynx will also introduce the 2008 squad at the Mall of America on Saturday, May 17, from 4-6 p.m., in the rotunda at the Mall of America. Two-time All-Star Seimone Augustus and 2008 Wade Trophy winner Candice Wiggins will be on hand with their teammates to sign autographs and meet fans.

Guard Seimone Augustus: Wrapped up the Russian Superleague playoffs (Dynamo Moscow) on Apr. 30, and is scheduled to arrive in the Twin Cities tomorrow (May 8). Guard Anna DeForge: Completed the PLKK championship series (TS Wisla Can-Pack Krakow) on Sunday, and is expected to join the Lynx tomorrow (May 8). Forward Kristen Rasmussen: Ended the Liga Femenina postseason (EBE Promociones-PDV Santa Eulalia) on Sunday, and will report to camp tomorrow (May 8).
