Vero Beach Devil Rays News Release
Brevard County defeated the Vero Beach Dodgers 10-0 Monday night at Holman Stadium. Steve Sollman went 4-5 to lead the Manatees at the plate, while starter Adam Habel was perfect until the sixth. The Dodgers now turn their attention to the Jupiter Hammerheads. The first game of that crucial series begins at 6:35 PM at Roger Dean Stadium Tuesday night. Vero's "magic number" to clinch the First Half title remains at three, so the Dodgers can secure a playoff spot by taking two of the three games in Jupiter.
Anthony Raglani went 2-3 for the Dodgers and Chin-lung HU added the only other hit. Habel went eight innings for Brevard, allowing only two of those hits. He didn't walk anyone and struck out eight. Jeremy Lewis pitched the ninth to close it out.
Julio Pimentel took the loss for the Dodgers, although all four runs he surreneder came in the first inning. After that he tossed five shutout frames to help keep the Dodgers in it. Beltran Perez added 1 1/3 scoreless relief innings.
