B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club will hold its annual local evaluation camp on Monday, April 30th at its Surrey practice facility (10605 City Parkway) beginning at 10:30 am.
Approximately 40 players including draft-eligible CIS players, junior football standouts from across British Columbia and select free agents invited by the club will be put through their paces as the Lions close in on training camp in June.
"We have had tremendous success in finding and developing local football talent from the CIS and junior ranks," said Lions vice president of football operations and GM Wally Buono. "One can look no further than Andrew Harris to see the level of ability these players can potentially bring to your club and this camp is a great opportunity for us to find the next local prospect."
Testing, which begins at 10:30 am will last approximately 90 minutes and include 40-yard timing, position drills and one-on-one's. BC Lions head coach Mike Benevides will be available to the media following the workout.
BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort gets underway in beautiful Kamloops, BC on Sunday, June 3rd. The Lions begin defence of their Grey Cup title with a preseason tilt versus Saskatchewan on Wednesday, June 13th before kicking off the regular season versus Winnipeg on Friday, June 29th.
