B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club today announced that quarterback Grant Hedrick along with international offensive linemen Jason Foster, Josh Aladenoye (pronounced uh-LAD-uh-noy) and international kicker Anthony Fera have agreed to terms on contracts with the team.
Hedrick wrapped up a productive four-year career at Boise State with 5,656 passing yards on 475 completions with 39 touchdowns. The Oregon native also added another 971 yards and 18 touchdowns on 250 carries. With 19 starts in his final two seasons, Hedrick was a Second-Team All-Mountain West selection as a senior last year and also owned the NCAA's best completion percentage at 70.8%.
Foster makes the long journey to BC from his home in Vermont after a two-year NFL stint spent in Indianapolis, Oakland and Tampa Bay. The Rhode Island grad started 37 of his 41 colligate appearances including all 11 as a senior in 2011 garnering Second-Team All CAA honours.
Aladenoye was an undrafted free agent signing of the Dallas Cowboys last year after finishing his college days at Illinois State. The Texas native who started his final 24 games for the Red Birds was a Second-Team All-MVFC selection as a senior in 2013.
Fera will arrive in BC after splitting his college playing days between Penn State and Texas. The former Longhorn was good on 22 of 26 career field goal attempts at Texas including a run of 15-consecutive successful attempts which tied a school record and helped make him a finalist for the NCAA's Lou Groza Award as the nation's top kicker in 2013.
The Lions also announced that quarterback Jordan Rodgers has informed the club that he will not be reporting to training camp and does not plan on playing football in 2015..
All four newcomers will hit the field with fellow first-year Lions in Kamloops for a mini-camp beginning on Thursday, May 28.
BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort begins on Sunday, May 31 in Kamloops, BC.
