BB&T Ballpark to Welcome Two-Millionth Knights Fan Tonight
Special Fan Will Be Announced After the Team's 7:05 PM Game, Darrell Hammond Throwing Out First Pitch
WHO: The Charlotte Knights Baseball Club.
WHAT: The Charlotte Knights are expected to welcome their two-millionth fan through the gates tonight at BB&T Ballpark. Over the course of 213 regular season home dates, the Knights have amassed over 1.9 million fans (1,995,488). Last night, the Knights welcomed a total of 10,202 fans on Opening Knight for their 88th Knights sell-out since opening the ballpark in Uptown Charlotte in 2014.
WHEN: With just 4,512 fans to go, the Knights are expected to name their two-millionth fan tonight. The announcement will take place after the completion of the team's 7:05 p.m. game tonight against the Norfolk Tides. The winning fan will be selected during a post-game ceremony and taken down to the field to win a special prize pack, including the opportunity to watch fireworks on the field.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Charlotte Knights players will take the field for batting practice starting at 4:15 p.m. and will be available for b-roll video footage during that time. Player interviews are available following BP (approximately 5:00 p.m.). Additionally, throwing out tonight's ceremonial first pitch will be Saturday Night Live actor, Darrell Hammond.
