BayHawks Win Third Straight
February 4, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Erie BayHawks News Release
ERIE - The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks (14-16) extended their win streak to three games utilizing a smothering defense to cruise to victory over the league's defending champion Idaho Stampede (19-10) 111 to 85.
BayHawks forward Erik Daniels, fresh from being snubbed by D League All Star voters, had a statement making game, with a game high 26 points, notching his league leading 20th double-double with 12 rebounds and just missing the triple-double with 9 assists.
The BayHawks hard working defense held the Stampede's trio of All Star's, Brent Petway, Lance Allred and Luke Jackson to single digits offensively. Kevin Burleson and Jamaal Tatum came off the bench to lead the Stampede's only offensive spark chipping in 17 and 15 points respectively.
Offensively Erie displayed balanced scoring with Maureece Rice knocking down 22, Ivan Harris had 15, Cliff Clinkscales 14, Oliver Lafayette 12, and Jackie Manuel and Darian Townes rounding out the BayHawks in double figures with 10 each.
The BayHawks take on the Utah Flash Monday, February 4 (7:00 pm) at the Tullio Arena. The game will air on Fox Sportsradio 1330 AM The Fan, WFNN.
