Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie BayHawks ran past the Springfield Armor, 109-71, with a potent full team effort on opening night at Louis J. Tullio Arena in front of 5,052 fans.
After the game being tied at 14 at the four minute mark of the first quarter the BayHawks went on 16-2 run to end the frame and never looked back. Erie outscored the Armor 40-19 in the second to take a 33 point lead into halftime and led by as many as 42 in the fourth quarter.
Erie had seven players in double figures: Solomon Alabi, on assignment from the Toronto Raptors, and Ivan Johnson each had 13, Christian Eyenga, on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Tasmin Mitchell added 12 apiece, Nate Linhart chipped in 11, and Tasheed Carr and Derek Raivio each notched 10. Johnson recorded the team's only double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds.
Scottie Reynolds paced the Armor with 21 points and L.D. Williams added 14.
The two teams meet again on Saturday night at 7pm.
